Biography: Marshalee Ellis-Kehlhem, Gospel Singer

Marshalee's most treasured credential is that she is a child of the Most High God, Jesus Christ, seeking daily to live in His image and to be one of His representatives. Her gifting as a singer has allowed her to take gospel music to both religious and secular audiences across the country and the Island of Jamaica, where she was born and raised.

New music has been completed!  Marshalee is currently working with Fred Jerkins, III CEO of the DarkChild Gospel Label on her next project anticipated to be released soon.

Marshalee has opened in concert for Gospel Recording artist and Dove Award winner, Ms. Dottie Peoples, and  has shared the stage with  Grammy Award Winner Minister Dr. Bobby Jones of BET, and many others artists. In May 2012 Marshalee was invited to a White House National Day of Prayer event on the Ellipse in Washington DC where she ministered in song.

She views ministering through song as a serious assignment, knowing its power “to console and bring joy to those who mourn, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for the spirit of mourning, and the garment of expressive praise for a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit--that they may be revived and that God may be glorified” (Is 61:31). She sings so that those who hear may become empowered to rebuild ruin lives.  In the songs that she sings and writes, she desires to show others the love, hope, and vibrant future that God has promised and provided in His word to anybody who trusts and believes!   Through her ministry of music hundreds have come to realize their calling and purpose in life---To praise God.

Marshalee's performances have included church conferences and conventions in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, and the Island of Jamaica. She hosted the Cambridge Swedenborg Chapel’s Community Music Arts Festival Series in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. Marshalee has also been the featured guest artist at several television concert specials. She has also infused gospel music in the corporate community for such events as, The Women In Business Connection, the NAACP Annual Gospel Fest, the American Cancer Society, Tufts Health Plan’s annual diversity celebration, the Columbus Rib, Jazz Fest in Ohio, and for radio stations across the northeast. She has featured at the Town of Framingham’s annual Concert on the Green, the African American Festival in Worcester MA, and the United Baptist Convention’s Women’s Conference. Her performances receive rave reviews for her soaring vocals, engaging style, and excellent stage presence. Marshalee is appreciated not only for her rich and powerful vocals but also for having an encouraging attitude, and a kind, loving and humble spirit.
